The guy is on an absolute tear. The guy has a .963 OPS in Bowie after putting up similar numbers in Frederick. He was a 4 year college guy. He's 23. Promoting him wouldn't hurt his development. We're currently playing Parm and Flaherty at 1B. It's not uncommon for top prospects to skip AAA. You're seeing teams all around baseball call up guys like him. Prospect lists don't really matter at this point of the year. This guy has performed. 350/377/586 slash line for a .963 OPS. Mancini has 16 walks in 92 games. I don't see him being the answer to the Orioles problems.

It's time to promote him - but to AAA. Remember Brandon Snyder put up similar numbers at a similar age (actually Snyder was slightly younger) and flopped at AAA.

Coincidentally, Snyder is showing a ton of improvement himself as Mancini's teammate. At 28, it may be too late - but they've given chances to older players.

If you believe that Mancini is ready, I certainly wouldn't let Parmalee stand in the way, that's for sure.

Mancini might actually help in the short run. The low walk rate concerns me long-term, but an aggressive hitter who can hit a fastball can be successful initially--think of Jeff Francoeur, for instance.

If anyone's coming up, it's Walker and/or Alvarez. After a few players are moved next week, that is.

Alvarez has been in a cold spell recently. The time to promote him has already passed.

A lot of patience with Parmelee. Far too much, if you ask me. I'm not sure what Buck and/or DD sees in him that would justify keeping him on this long.

Does this org have anyone who can draw a walk? So frustrating that we can't develop a starter or someone who can get on base. Lots and lots to be desired with our MiLB stuff.
